Chemistry of Life

BIG IDEA:  Biological systems utilize free energy and molecular building blocks to grow, to reproduce and to maintain dynamic homeostasis.
In this unit of study, we will examine the compounds and molecules that make life possible.  We will look at how living systems manufacture and use biological molecules in order to sustain life.  We will also investigate the relationship between structure and function of biological molecules.
