DFW AP Bio

Professional

Learning Community

In the summer of 2012, a group of AP Biology educators gathered at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens for its first meeting.  Influenced by colleagues in the Northeast, this group gathered to collaborate, share and discuss issues and concerns related to the redesigned AP Biology curriculum.  Productive discussion, sharing of best practices, as well as opportunities to meet and network with other AP Biology educators took place.  It was decided at this meeting that the group should meet more frequently and thus a professional learning community was born.

This group is comprised of a diverse group of teachers from all over the Dallas/Fort Worth Metro area.  We meet 2-3 times a year to collaborate, share ideas and develop lessons to take back to our classrooms.  Periodically our meetings will include workshops and guest speakers.
